Rothaus Oktoberfest - Time to Celebrate and Win a Case of German Beer!
It’s Rothaus Oktoberfest time and Andrew Morgan, Sales & Marketing Director, Black Forest Beers and member of the British Guild of Beer Writers, has the lowdown; along with an exciting special offer and competition news.
Many people wonder why the famous German beer festival, Oktoberfest, is actually held in September. The reason is, it always finishes on the first Sunday of October and it’s this day that defines the name. In Munich, the festival is controlled by the six breweries that brew within the city walls and only their beer can be served in their festival. So, what does that mean for the other German breweries? They hold their own festivals!
How do Rothaus celebrate Oktoberfest?
Rothaus is owned by the state of Baden, so their Oktoberfest will be a celebration of the region with live music, food, and, of course, Rothaus Festbier.
This year, the Baden Rothaus Oktoberfest will be held on the 15th and 16th of September (time to book last minute trip?). Lederhosen is encouraged but certainly optional. Everyone aged 16+ is welcome and, for those who want a bit of luxury, there’s the chance of securing a VIP table which - along with some Rothaus beer, food and service - guarantees you your very own toilet in the VIP area. Anyone who has been to a festival will testify to that being a price worth paying!
How do we celebrate Oktoberfest?
We’ll be reporting from the festival as we’re taking some people from our amazing Rothaus-pouring venues across the UK to enjoy the festivities and say ‘danke schön’ for their support.
Although we’re unable bring you the exclusive Baden Rothaus Festbier, our regular selection of Rothaus Pils, Rothaus Hefeweizen and Rothaus Märzen will do a mighty fine job of giving you an authentic Oktoberfest experience.
A special offer and a chance to win a case of Rothaus German beer
To help you celebrate Oktoberfest at home, we’ve created a unique package for our online shop which combines a 1 litre glass ‘stein’ and some Rothaus beers at a rather tasty price.
We’re also offering a free case of Rothaus beer to one lucky winner sharing a photo on IG/X (Instagram and Twitter) with their Rothaus glass full of Rothaus beer (either at home or in a bar) from now until the first Sunday in October.
Share as many photos as you like to enter multiple times, but please always remember to drink responsibly! Tag the photo with #RothausFest so we know you’ve entered the competition. Prost and good luck!
Look out for our Oktoberfest beer keg tapping events
Finally, some uber-limited wooden casks of Rothaus Pils will be tapped at a few lucky venues in the coming weeks.
We’ll be announcing all the details once they’re confirmed. Keep your diaries free as you won’t want to miss out on tasting beer fresh from the brewery served in such an authentic way.
