Maisel's Weisse Kristall is a refreshingly clear and sparkling German wheat beer, masterfully crafted by the renowned Maisel’s Brewery in Bayreuth, Upper Franconia. This family-run brewery, founded in 1887 by brothers Hans and Eberhardt Maisel, is now helmed by their fourth-generation descendant, Jeff Maisel.

Once dubbed ‘champagne wheat’, Maisel's Weisse Kristall is a top-fermented, Bavarian-filtered yeast wheat beer with a bright yellow hue and a distinctively fruity, tangy flavour. It embodies the essence of Bavarian brewing tradition and remains a must-try for any German beer enthusiast. Known for its crystal-clear brilliance and lively effervescence, this beer was a trailblazer during the wheat beer boom of the 1950s and 1960s and continues to delight drinkers today.

Crafted from a special blend of sun-ripened wheat varieties, light barley malts, and Hallertauer Aroma and Bitter hops, and fermented with Maisel's own wheat beer yeast, Maisel’s Weisse Kristall reveals a balanced bouquet of fruit nuances. Aromas of ripe banana mingle with hints of citrus, complemented by the characteristic, slightly spicy notes of traditional German wheat beer.

Tasting Notes
